In collaboration with Viacom18, Paramount+ will launch in India in 2023.
Paramount+ is a subscription video-on-demand service(SVOD) operated by Paramount Global in the United States. Content for the service comes mostly from CBS Media Ventures (including CBS Studios), Paramount Pictures library, and Paramount Media Networks. It includes original series and films, live streaming sports coverage, and live streaming of local CBS broadcast stations in the United States. CBS Broadcasting, Inc., previously known as Columbia Broadcasting System, is an American commercial broadcast television and radio network that Paramount Global's CBS Entertainment Group owns.
Last month, Paramount announced that its global streaming service, Paramount+, will launch in India in 2023 in conjunction with Viacom18. According to a press release from Paramount, the streamer will debut in South Korea in June and then expand to Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland, and Austria in the second half of the year.
In a statement, Raffaele Annecchino, President and CEO of International Networks, Studios, and Streaming at Paramount Global, said that Paramount is known for its leading portfolio of premium entertainment brands. Its robust content engine fuels its rapidly expanding streaming service, Paramount+. This year will be monumental for their streaming strategy as they accelerate their global ambitions, rapidly expanding Paramount+ in Europe, beginning with the UK, Italy, Germany, France, and more, by the end of this year and debut in Asia with South Korea in June, followed by India in 2023.
It will be available on mobile phones and tablets, Apple TV, Android TV, Chromecast, Apple TV Channels, Roku, Samsung TV (2017+), desktop computers, and mobile web at https://www.paramountplus.com/, Announcement of additional features and services will be revealed in the future.
