After 24 days at the box office, Sunny Deol's action film Gadar 2 became the second Hindi film to gross over ₹500 crore
The Hindi film Gadar 2 has become the second Hindi film to gross over ₹500 crore at the box office. It is now aiming to break the record set by Pathaan.
It is now the third film ever to achieve this feat in a single language in India, after SS Rajamouli's Bahubali 2: The Conclusion and Pathaan. Gadar 2 achieved this in 24 days, faster than any other film in this category.
The film is now chasing the record of being the highest grossing Hindi film, currently held by Pathaan. However, it will not be able to match Pathaan's worldwide gross, which is over ₹1000 crore.
Gadar 2's collections will take a hit when Shah Rukh Khan's next film, Jawan, releases on September 7. Jawan is already expected to have the biggest Hindi film opening of all time, beating Pathaan's record of ₹55 crore.
