Avid has announced the availability of its Avid NEXIS | Flex subscription option with an OPEX (Operating Expenditures) business model, which allows media organizations to install their media storage system on-premise or in the cloud.
The Avid Virtual File System, which facilitates collaborative workflows for video creation teams, is at the heart of Avid NEXIS. The software layer runs on-premises or cloud on commodity COTS(Commercial-off-the-shelf) hardware.
The company's 2022 Investor Day event took place on May 24. Avid general manager of video and media solutions, Tim Claman, said keeping Avid NEXIS's well-known collaborative workflows, they embraced hybrid cloud deployment models. Avid NEXIS | Flex subscription plans allow customers to transition their infrastructure spending to OPEX and gradually migrate their software licenses to the cloud.
He added, "Avid NEXIS is the latest Avid product line to offer subscription plans, providing the customers with the financial flexibility and operational agility they need to navigate the rapidly-changing media marketplace."
