The two enormous north and south films will clash tomorrow. Both movies have a massive celebrity cast, excellent directors, musicians, and widespread acclaim. Ponniyin Selvan, based on Raja Raja Chola 1 of the Chola Empire, was directed by Maniratnam. At the same time, the talented Jodi of Pushkar-Gayatri helmed Vikram Vedha, a remake of the Tamil film of the same name.

The upcoming Tamil Epic "Ponniyin Selvan" is based on a novel by Kalki Krishnamurthy. The story revolves around the life and battles of Raja Raja Chola 1. The story opens with Aditiya Karikalan, Arulmozhi Varman's older brother, sending two letters via Vaanar clan prince Vandiyadevan to his father, Sundara Chola, and younger sister Kundavai. The story of how Vandiyadevan protects Aditiya Karikalan, Arulmozhi Varman, and their father Sundara Chola from Pandya Aabathudavigal has several twists and turns is told in Ponniyin Selvan 1.

Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan play the leading roles in the Hindi version of the movie "Vikram Vedha." In the film, Saif plays Vikram, a cop on the prowl for mobster Vedha. However, Vedha questions Vikram's moral convictions about what is right and immoral, changing the course of the classic police-gangster game.

Reviews for both films are flooding in, and audiences appear to be ecstatic about both. Whether theatergoing experiences are still vibrant after COVID-19 will depend on how well received they are. They are likely to perform well.
